IN PHOTOS: Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV-CALABARZON meets with the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) to discuss the planning and execution of water management for the rice seed growers of CALABARZON at the Lipa Agricultural Research and Experiment Station Conference Hall in Lipa City, Batangas, on February 10, 2021.

The coordination meeting served to converge the regional rice seed and irrigation systems plans to support early planters’ irrigation needs for the next two cropping seasons.
A total of 1,088.17 hectares of rice land within CALABARZON were given priority for 2021 planning and water management implementation.

Assistant Regional Director for Operations and Extension and Rice Program Coordinator Mr. Dennis R. Arpia led the discussion; and presented the rice banner program targets and planting schedule, and seed growers’ area and location. On the other hand, representatives from NIA-CALABARZON shared NIA’s status report and irrigation plans for 2021.

Field Operations Division Chief Engr. Redelliza A. Gruezo; Philippine Rice Research Institute Los Baños, and NIA-CALABARZON Irrigation Management Office representatives have also joined the meeting.
