Tatlong research papers ng Department of Agriculture IV-CALABARZON (DA-4A) ang pinarangalang pinakamahusay sa ginanap na 34th Regional Symposium on Research Development, and Extension Highlights (RSRDEH) ng Southern Tagalog Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research, Development and Extension Consortium (STAARRDEC) noong ika-20 ng Oktubre.

Nakuha ng research paper na “Promotion and Utilization of Purple Yam (Deoscorea alata L.) Production and Value-Adding Technologies in Quezon Province” nina Ginalyn Bocaya at Eunice Salubo ng DA-4A Research Division ang unang gantimpala para sa Extension Category.

Samantala, nasungkit naman ng research paper na “Efficacy and Utilization of Wood Vinegar ‘Mokusaku’ as Pesticide and Fertilizer for Rice” ni Eva Pugay ng Cavite Agricultural Research and Experiment Station (CARES) ang ikatlong gantimpala sa Research Category.

Iginawad din ang ikatlong gantimpala sa research paper nina Virgilia Arellano at ng iba pa niyang kasamang mananaliksik na may pamagat na “Community-based Participatory Action on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)-based Production Technologies for High Value Vegetables in San Luis, Batangas” sa Development Category.”

Tumanggap ng certificate of recognition, plaque, at salaping papremyo ang mga nagwagi.

Bukod sa pagbibigay-parangal sa mga natatanging pagsusuri, layunin ng RSRDEH, na may tema ngayong taon na “Science and Technology:  Enhancing the Sustainability and Resiliency of the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Sector,” na palawigin ang koneksyon ng mga mananaliksik, extension workers, local government units (LGU), at technology stakeholders.

Labing dalawang (12) research papers naman mula sa Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) Los Baños National Crop Research, Development and Production Support Center, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU), Cavite State University(CSU), University of the Philippines-Los Baños (UPLB), Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Forest Products Research and Development Institute, at University of Rizal Systems ang kwalipikado sa oral presentation at sa Best Paper and Best Poster awards in Research, Development, and Extension Categories.

Ang mga eksperto mula sa Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHILMECH), at mga pamantasan mula sa iba’t ibang rehiyon ang inimbitahan ng STAARRDEC bilang mga evaluators. #### (Isinulat ni Reina Beatriz P.
