Department of Agriculture (DA) IV CALABARZON, Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) and Batangas Egg Producers’ Cooperative (BEPCO) inaugurated a 30M worth of Chicken Manure Automated Composting Facility on October 12, 2019 in San Jose, Batangas.
The facilities will help the members of the cooperative reduce the dependence on high risk fertilizers. It will also cut costs and produce safe food while promoting the protection of the environment.
According to Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa, the project will help farmers increase their income as fertilizers used on their farms can now be sourced at the cooperative at lesser cost.
The project was implemented through the collaboration effort of DA, BAI and BEPCO.
The inauguration was witnessed by different key officials including BAI Director Dr. Ronnie Domingo and DA CALABARZON Asst. Director for Research and Regulatory Vilma Dimaculangan.
Also, a boodle fight was held at the Municipality of San Jose showing that municipality is African Swine Fever (ASF) free. JBGA, DA-RAFIS
