Through the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV-CALABARZON’s Taal Recovery and Rehabilitation Program, farmers of Brgy. Casile in Cabuyao, Laguna started planting Liberica coffee seedlings on July 18, 2020. This program aims to assist those farmers who were gravely affected by the volcano’s eruption.
The planting of coffee seeds from the DA was coordinated through Cabuyao’s City Agriculture Office.
The farmer-recipients expressed their gratitude towards the regional office’s continued assistance. They said that with this intervention, they can now rehabilitate what is left with Cabuyao’s coffee industry and revive their ash-covered livelihood. • (MAP, DA-RAFIS)
