The Department of Agriculture Region IV-CALABARZON continues to provide the Cash and Food Subsidy for Marginal Farmers and Fishers Program (CFSMFFP) to assist farmers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A total of 118 corn farmers in Buenavista each received food and financial assistance worth P5,000 under the CFSMFFP, in Brgy. Poblacion, Buenavista, Quezon, on December 5, 2020.

Eligible Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA)-registered beneficiaries were given P3,000 cash, P600 worth of chicken supply, P400 worth of eggs, and P1,000 worth of rice aid.

Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer (APCO) of Quezon Mr. Rolando P. Cuasay, Buenavista Vice Mayor Alvin Ray U. Rivera, Municipal Agriculturist (MA) Ms. Reynette E. Loayon, and Regional Corn Program staff led the distribution of CFSMFFP vouchers.

APCO Cuasay thanked the farmers that despite the trials the region is experiencing due to the pandemic and recent typhoons, farmers have been able to register with the RSBSA to use or obtain government assistance and programs as the CFSMFFP.

Vice Mayor Rivera expressed gratitude to the Department for its continued support and assistance for their farmers in the municipality and encouraged the corn farmers to continue to work hard in their endeavors while continuing to help the government in its desire to provide food for all.

Mr. Rogelio Gonzaga Avila, a corn farmer and one of the beneficiaries of CFSMFFP, shared his appreciation to APCO Cuasay, Vice Mayor Rivera, and MA Loayon for helping farmers meet all their needs.
