“Kapag po DA accredited CSO ang inyong grupo, mas madali po kayong maka-access or maka-avail ng mga programs and projects ng DA dahil nasisiguro po nito na kayo po ay karapat-dapat base po sa inyong pangangailangan at kakayahan.”

The Department of Agriculture IV-CALABARZON Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division (DA-4A PMED) Chief Maria Ella Cecilia B. Obligado encouraged Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to be accredited by DA to take full advantage of its programs and services.

CSOs refer to organizations, cooperatives, groups, foundations, and private corporations who can partnered with DA in implementation of agri-fisheries programs.

According to Chief Obligado, there are 22 organizations in CALABARZON who are already CSO accredited, to wit: Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative, Pinagdanlayan Rural Improvement Club Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Southern Luzon Farmers And Traders, Salaban II Women’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Yakap at Halik Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Quezon 2, Yakap at Halik Multi-Purpose Cooperative Cavite, Samahang Maggagatas ng Batangas Cooperative, CAFÉ Amadeo Development Cooperative, General Trias Dairy Raisers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Quezon Agricultural Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Infanta Credit and Development Cooperative, Lupang Arenda Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Sentrong Pamilihan ng Produktong Agrikultura sa Quezon Foundation Inc., Quezon Federation and Union of Cooperatives, Barigon Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Luntian Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative, Lobo-San Jose Agro-Industrial Corporation, Cavinti Fishcage Operators Marketing Cooperative, Batangas Organic and Natural Farming Agriculture Cooperative, San Jose Workers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Batangas Egg Producers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and Batangas Egg Producers Association, Inc.

DA-accredited CSOs are eligible to receive operational funds from DA for their agri-fishery projects.

For instance, the Southern Luzon Farmers And Traders received a financial grant worth P1,640,000 under the Enhanced KADIWA Program. This grant was used to procure a delivery truck and various farm machinery and equipment.

The CSO application for accreditation will be validated by the DA-4A PMED, the Regional Technical Secretariat, and will be forwarded to the National Technical Committee for the approval of accreditation.
