High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) of the Department of Agriculture Region IV CALABARZON successfully conducted its yearly assessment last November 21 – 23, 2018 at Hotel Dominique, Tagaytay City, Cavite.
The assessment which has the aim at determining the progress and effectiveness of its programs, projects, services, interventions, and activities implemented and being implemented in the current year; and to gauge whether the outcomes of its disbursements are concentrated on accomplishing its deliverables and outputs, gathered an over 100 participants coming from the regional office and counterparts from the local government units (LGUs).
“The results from this activity can give us understandings on what actions we should take afterwards as these will also help the regional office’s management in aligning and implementing its plans and activities for the next few years,” Regional HVCDP Coordinator Engr. Redelliza A. Gruezo said.
Different presentations were done where participants drew comments and suggestions. These were the following: A) 2018 HVCDP plans and programs for regional priority commodities (coffee, cacao, mango, banana, vegetables, and fruit trees and spices) including a) market-related activities, b) distribution of farm production-related machinery and equipment, and irrigation network services, and c) postharvest/processing equipment and machinery, and establishment of community-based processing facilities; B) 2019 HVCDP plans and programs; and C) presentation of accomplishments for LGU-funded projects and farmers’ success stories.
