The Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Batangas indorsed Department of Agriculture Region IV-CALABARZON’s proposed P1.3-billion Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) projects for Batangas on July 14, 2020. These projects will provide much easier access to transporting agricultural goods directly from farms to markets across the region.

The said indorsement is part of the Regional Development Investment Plan that is the prime reference of the Regional Development Council (RDC) in the annual review of the agency’s budget proposal. The RDC indorsement is one of the technical requirements of the Department of Budget and Management for the release of funds to commence with the implementation of the FMR projects.

This shows the synergistic partnership between DA and PLGU-Batangas in the achievement of agricultural development.

The regional office also received an indorsement for P12-billion solar fertigation projects for the province. • (MAP, DA-RAFIS)
