Zara P. Caringal, a Science Research Specialist I assigned at the Quezon Agricultural Research and Experiment Station (QARES), successfully completed the 11-month course on Information and Knowledge Management (IKM) Mentorship Program after attending the final assessment and testimonial ceremony last September 25-26, 2018 held at the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) in Los Baños, Laguna.
During the course implementation, the learner-participants tackled the following concepts per module: a) Science communication, inclusive growth and sustainable development, and agriculture research’s thrusts and programs specifically on Philippine Rural Development Plan for Module 1; b) News and feature writing and production for Module 2; c) Photography and videography for Module 3; and d) New media writing and production for Module 4.
This mentorship program started last September 2017 which included a series of face-to-face and online sessions where the learner-participants gained more knowledge and improved their skills in communicating agriculture research results using different platforms while considering their stakeholders.
Caringal is one of the graduates for the first batch of learner-participants of this SEARCA-led program.
