Members of Agriculture Dialogue and Information Network Groups (ADING) CALABARZON expressed their excitement and eagerness to help the Department of Agriculture IV-CALABARZON (DA-4A) in providing better service and assistance to the farmers through monitoring and evaluation of the Department’s activities and programs during the members’ orientation facilitated by DA-4A Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division (DA-4A PMED) on June 15-16.

“Very excited kami dahil napasali kami sa ADING at mapapasama kami sa activities. Mas mapalalakas ang ugayan ng business with the Department. Nag-form na kami [Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Antipolo] ng committee ng ADING for DA,” Bryant Kim An, PCCI-Antipolo President, said.

ADING is a civic group that consists of members from the academe, public, private, and religious sectors with the goal of helping the Department of Agriculture in instituting measures for better public service delivery, greater effectiveness and efficiency, enhance transparency, and stronger accountability in order to provide better service and assistance to the farmers.

ADING CALABARZON members were from Regional, Provincial, and Municipal Agriculture and Fishery Council, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Caivite State University (CSU), Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), Batangas State University (BatSU), PCCI-Batangas and Antipolo, and Archdiocese of Lipa.

The main role of the members of ADING is to help the DA-4A PMED in monitoring and validating the activities and programs of and related to the Department.

“Magbabase sa monitoring ang ibibigay na kailangan para maiangat ang kabuhayan ng magsasaka,” Doming J. Mercado, Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Council (PAFC) of Batangas, explained.

Aside from the introduction of the group, briefing on the following subjects was conducted during the orientation: price monitoring, DA-4A planning and budget cycle, and procurement activities to help the members prepare for their responsibility in ADING.

“Napakahalaga ngang nagkaroon muna ng orientation ang members para matiyak natin na lahat tayo ay may iisang tinatahak na layunin,” Kim An said.  #### (Reina Beatriz P. Peralta, DA-4A RAFIS)
