A groundbreaking ceremony for a P5.5M-worth community-based swine facility was held on May 2, 2022 in Taysan, Batangas. This project which includes housing and facilities, animal stocks, and supplies like feeds, veterinary drugs, and biologics aims at establishing a sustainable source of quality hogs for the local market.

Buklod-Unlad Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) is the beneficiary of the project which is part of the implementation of the community-based swine production, repopulation, and expansion through farm clustering and farm consolidation program of the Department of Agriculture.

Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council Chairman and Farmer-Director Mr. Pedrito R. Kalaw graced the event and congratulated the cooperative as the beneficiary of the project.

Together with the Buklod-Unlad MPC Board of Directors, the groundbreaking was attended by Taysan Municipal Agriculturist Engr. Clarisse Comia, DA-4A Livestock Program, Regional Agricultural Engineering Division, and other DA 4A personnel.
