DA-4A grants refrigerated van worth P2.5-M to Infanta FA to help ensure food quality

The Department of Agriculture IV-CALABARZON (DA-4A), led by OIC-Regional Executive Director Vilma M. Dimaculangan and in coordination with with the Office of 1st District of Quezon Representative and House Committee Chair for Agriculture and Food, Cong. Wilfrido Mark M. Enverga, turned over a refrigerated van worth P2.5-M to Bongliw Fisherman Association (FA) of Infanta, Quezon on June 17.

The van will be used for faster delivery of the captured fishes and other food products of the 247 members of the said association from Quezon Province to Malabon Public Market.And since the van is refrigerated, the food products, especially fish, of the Bongliw FA are safe from spoilage

“Lubos kaming nagpapasalaamat sa DA-4A sa naibigay na van. Malaking menos ito sa gastusin ng asosasyon. Hindi na namin kailangang umarkila para mag-deliver ng three to four tons na isda,” Charlie B. Engreso, BFA president said.

The distribution of the refrigerated van is through the Enhanced KADIWA Inclusive Food Supply Chain Program that is funded under the Bayanihan II Act, which aims to ensure food availability and accessibility during the period of pandemic and beyond. #### (Reina Beatriz P. Peralta, DA-4A RAFIS)
