A special meeting for the conduct of a roadshow of farm technologies towards agricultural production thru the technical cooperation of Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech) and Korean Agricultural Machinery Industry Cooperative (KAMICO) was held at Southern Tagalog Integrated Agricultural Research Center (STIARC), Brgy. Maraouy, Lipa City, Batangas on March 20, 2018.
Department of Agriculture Region IV CALABARZON Rice Program Coordinator and Regional Agricultural Engineering Division Chief Engr. Enrique H. Layola was one of those who led the activity, together with Roderic O. Verenia and Niño Bengosta of PhilMech and Marilou Bautista of FIT Corea Trading Phils., Inc. Engr. Layola explained the highlight of conducting a roadshow which is to promote the machinery and equipment from Korea.
This will be a two-day activity which to be held at STIARC. Registration, opening ceremony, exhibition of different machinery and equipment, and seminar sessions will all be happening on its first day while, simultaneous actual demonstrations will be done the following day.
Among those present during the meeting were Operations Division Office-In-Charge (OIC) Dennis R. Arpia, Program Coordinators Avelita M. Rosales of Corn and Vilma M. Dimaculangan of Livestock, Regional Information Officer Patria T. Bulanhagui, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer (APCO) Fidel L. Libao of Batangas, other APCOs’ representatives, and Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division’s (AMAD) representative.
An ocular inspection was also done at STIARC and in Ibaan, Batangas.
