Michael Angelo F. Lobrin, a prolific and sought-after inspirational speaker, emphasized ways for the participants to find joy in serving the public and what he called the three gifts of Christmas: 1) humility, 2) gratefulness, and 3) focus.

To be humble while still enjoying success, he said, “Listen more, talk less…show appreciation…know you won’t always be on top…admit when you’ve made a mistake…welcome criticism…”

“Change your paradigm of thinking. Expressing sincere gratitude for every thing you have in your life makes you feel happier. Develop an attitude of gratitude on a daily basis by looking for things to appreciate, slow down and savor an everyday experience, show other people you appreciate them, and be grateful when doing something mundane,” Brother Michael explained.

According to Lobrin, staying focused while at work is a matter of building good habits. So, he encouraged every one to, “Set clear goals, practice not being distracted, pay attention to yourself…don’t lose the focus of your passion.”

“Invest in goodness not just in excellence, efficiency, and intelligence. Always hold on together,” he concluded.
