The Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV CALABARZON through its Corn Program and Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) conducted a market matching for white corn in the municipalities of San Andres and San Francisco in Quezon on May 3 – 4, 2018.
Market matching is a strategic program of the DA in linking farmers and food buyers on a mutually beneficial manner.
“The objective of this market matching particularly for white corn is to undertake preparatory activities for more effective and beneficial market matching and assure both parties of mutual benefits each will gain from the activity, to establish linkage between buyer and supplier, and to forge a marketing agreement among parties,” said Corn Program Coordinator Avelita M. Rosales.
“Bilang buyer, handa po kaming tulungan ang mga magsasaka upang mabili ang kanilang mga mais sa tamang presyo at mas madagdagan ang kanilang kinikita,” said Eva Cannon, Manager of Talisay Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
Aside from market matching, DA will establish a model farm for white corn in the said municipalities.
