Department of Agriculture IV-CALABARZON Corn and Cassava Banner Program leads the effort to update the 5 year roadmap of the region regarding the said commodity on August 30, 2019 in Lipa Agricultural Research & Experiment Station (LARES) Training Hall, Lipa City, Batangas.

Regional Corn and Cassava Banner Program Coordinator Avelita M. Rosales said that the roadmap is in line with the objective of increasing and sustaining the productivity and quality output and profitability of corn and cassava farmers. In so doing, it will strongly support the food security and self-sufficiency program of the government.

Also, In her opening remarks Ms. Rosales mentioned, “the road map will not only provides the thrusts of the region in the planting of both corn and cassava for five years but also tells where CALABARZON is now as far as these agricultural crops are concerned.”

The road map was jointly updated by the Department of Agriculture and the Provincial Government through the Provincial Agriculture Office, in collaboration with municipal and city agriculture officers, corn and cassava cluster leaders, and other stakeholders.
