Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV-CALABARZON distributed one unit of egg incubator to each of 11 farmers from several local government units (LGUs) throughout Batangas, held at Lipa Agricultural Research and Experiment Station (LARES) on July 13, 2020.
The distribution is part of DA’s Recovery and Rehabilitation Program for farmers affected by African Swine Fever (ASF) and Taal volcanic eruption, in line with its Livestock Program, in which various livelihood interventions are being distributed within CALABARZON.
In his speech, DA CALABARZON Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa noted that CALABARZON plays a major role in Luzon’s food security, that is why opportunities like these are extremely valuable and should be taken care of.
These egg incubators can hold 500 chicken eggs and are believed to provide opportunities for egg producers in Batangas to have their chicken eggs hatched conveniently through their respective LGU offices, thus helping to achieve a higher hatchability rate in the province.
Aside from several cities and municipalities in Batangas, one unit of the said intervention was also received by Rizal Agricultural Research and Experiment Station. • (MAP, DA-RAFIS)
