Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV-CALABARZON, in partnership with the Department of Energy and Unioil, started to roll its KAtuwang sa DIwa at GaWA (KADIWA) ni Ani at Kita Project on Wheels in Unioil Anabu-1 and Unioil Anabu-2 in Imus City, Cavite on September 5, 2020.
This KADIWA partnership project will bring farmers’ fresh and quality produce closer to consumers at a cheaper price, without the additional cost brought by traders or middlemen.
Mr. Raffy Aromin, chairman of Samahan Galing Ulan At Lupa Ating Yamanin (SAGULAY) Farmers Association in CALABARZON, expressed his appreciation towards this KADIWA on Wheels project. He said that this project will serve as a promotion for farmers especially during this pandemic. “With the help of the DA, we are able to consolidate and sell farm products from across the region even from places which remain in lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic”, Mr. Aromin said.
This activity will run every Saturday and Sunday this month of September, with SAGULAY Farmers Association as one of its beneficiaries together with other farming groups in CALABARZON. • (MAP, DA-RAFIS)
