The Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Credit Policy Council (DA-ACPC), in coordination with the Agricultural Program Coordinating Office (APCO) of Cavite, distributed P4.9 million in loan assistance to farmer-beneficiaries in Cavite on June 8 and 9, 2020.

A total of 188 farmers from the cities of Bacoor and Dasmariñas, and the municipalities of Amadeo, General Trias, and General Mariano Alvarez received financial assistance through the Survival and Recovery (SURE) COVID-19.

The APCO, in coordination with Mt. Carmel Rural Bank, facilitated the distribution of loan assistance amounting to P25,000 per beneficiary, which according to the ACPC, is payable for up to 10 years without any interest rate or collateral.

According to APCO Felix Joselito H. Noceda, the distribution will continue on the following days: June 10 in Indang, Ternate, and Trece Martires; June 11 in Magallanes and Tanza; June 15 in Mendez, Maragondon, Imus, and Noveleta; and June 16 in General Emilio Aguinaldo.

SURE COVID-19 aims to provide financial support to farmers and fishers who have been severely affected by the enhanced community quarantine caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. ● (JAAJ, DA-RAFIS)
