Ten (eight from Quezon and two from Batangas) out of 16 Regional Gawad Saka winners qualified in the national level.

The national validation for the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV-CALABARZON winner in the Large Animal Raiser category, Mr. Teodoro β€œKa Teddy” Panaligan of Sariaya, Quezon, was done on July 26, 2019. Among the national validators present were Ms. Melanie Estole, Mr. Marlo Legaspi, and Mr. Albert Astillano from Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI); Mr. Gabby Salvacion of National Dairy Authority (NDA); and Mr. Marlon Ocampo of Philippine Carabao Center (PCC).

Ms. Bella Castro, Agricultural Center Chief I and other staff of Quezon Provincial Veterinary Office; Ms. Cristina Lucila, Provincial Information Officer of Provincial Agriculture Office; and Ms. Pat Bulanhagui, Regional Gawad Saka Focal Person together with Ms. Rosalinda Alonsozana, her Alternate Focal Person, and Ms. Toribia Junsay, Vice-Chairperson of the Committee for Outstanding Large Animal Raiser category, of DA CALABARZON were also present to give support to the Regional Outstanding Large Animal Farmer.

Other winners who qualified at the national level were Outstanding City Agricultural and Fishery Council (CAFC) – Tayabas CAFC; Outstanding Farm Family – Sera Family of Pagbilao; Outstanding Fisherfolk (Aquaculture Fisheries) – Mr. Benjamie Bajo of Panukulan; Outstanding High Value Crops Farmer – Mr. Florencio Flores of Sariaya; Outstanding Provincial Agricultural and Fishery Council (PAFC) – Quezon Province; Outstanding Coconut Farmer – Ms. Nenieveh Fortun-Glinoga of Pitogo; Outstanding Young Farmer – Mr. Nelson Padin of Tayabas; Outstanding Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (MFARMC) – Calatagan MFARMC; and Outstanding Small Farmers’ Organization – Sorosoro Multi-Purpose and Allied Services Cooperative of Batangas City.
