To check the authenticity of the documents presented and submitted in the scrapbooks as well as the audio and video presentations, the National Technical Committees (NTCs) of the National Gawad Saka Search 2018 conducted series of field validations and interviews with some of the regional nominees of CALABARZON.
Just like recently, Regional Gawad Saka Outstanding Barangay Food Terminal (BFT) Salaban II Women’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Salaban II, Ibaan, Batangas was visited by the NTC as they are one of the national nominees for the said category.
Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) Chief of the Department of Agriculture Region IV CALABARZON Editha M. Salvosa, Provincial Agriculturist of Batangas Pablito A. Balantac, and Provincial Gawad Saka Focal Person Grace S. Faraon assisted the NTC.
Outstanding Large Animal Raiser from Concepcion Palasan, Sariaya, Quezon Loreto A. Basit and Outstanding Fisherfolk-Fish Capture from Nasugbu, Batangas Rolando U. Villaluna were also validated on separate dates.
The other regional winners of CALABARZON who are scheduled for validation are the following: Infanta Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (MFARMC) – Outstanding MFARMC; Arnel A. Panganiban of Santol, Balayan, Batangas – Outstanding Sugarcane Farmer; Paulino H. Sulibit of Ibabang Palina, Liliw, Laguna – Outstanding Fruits/Plantation Crops Farmer; Quezon Provincial Agricultural and Fishery Council (PAFC) – Outstanding PAFC; and Nestor D. Malaluan of Candelaria, Quezon – Outstanding Coconut Farmer.
