IN PHOTOS: Some 80 stakeholders in the hog industry were consulted by DA CALABARZON on the stabilization of pork prices in CALABARZON to come up with measures to support the industry and to lower pork prices in ways that will benefit both the producers and the consumers at the Lipa Agricultural Research and Experiment Station Conference Hall in Lipa City, Batangas, on February 8, 2021.

Along with the hog producers, traders, cooperatives, and provincial and city veterinarians in the region, long-term solutions have been addressed to make recommendations and suggestions in line with Executive Order No. 124 and to address the much-needed supply of pork in Metro Manila.

In her message, OIC-Regional Executive Director (RED) Vilma M. Dimaculangan pointed out the importance of unity and harmony in stabilizing the price of pork products in CALABARZON.

As Secretary Dar’s technical advisor, Mr. Ranilo M. Maderazo of Planters Product, Inc., encouraged everyone in the hog raising industry in CALABARZON to work as one to resolve the issue of pork prices and supply. He noted that the imposition of this EO is aimed at achieving food security and diversification while maintaining the supply and value chain of the industry.

Representatives of the Agricultural Training Institute-International Training Center on Pig Husbandry, National Meat Inspection Service IV-A, Agricultural Program Coordinating Offices, Unified Quezon Hog Raisers’ Association, Livestock Traders’ Association, FC Farm, Creekview, Batangas Egg Producers Cooperative, San Jose Workers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Rublou Group of Companies, and officials of Local Government Unit of Batangas City also participated in the meeting.
