KAtuwang sa DIwa at GaWA (KADIWA) ni Ani at Kita of the Department of Agriculture (DA) in the CALABARZON region has generated gross sales of P10,174,019.69 since its roll out on March 11, 2020.

On May 3, KADIWA’s three modalities for bringing food to consumers, namely KADIWA on Wheels (mobile market), KADIWA Retail (traditional physical market), and KADIWA Online, recorded sales of P6,219,804.99, P3,952,048.90, and P2,165.80 respectively.

About 41,461 farmers’ cooperatives and consumers/buyers have benefitted from the KADIWA project, in which 117,742.85 kilograms of agri-fishery products such as vegetables, fruits, rice, livestock and poultry products, and fish have been sold.

The KADIWA project effectively supports key stakeholders across the food value chain, from supply-side farmers to demand-side consumers.

The development of the KADIWA project in CALABARZON is being operated closely together by numerous farmers’ cooperatives and associations, local government units (LGUs), individuals, and organizations.

The consortium of three cooperatives – Batangas Egg Producers’ Cooperative, San Jose Workers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and Batangas Organic and Natural Farming Association Cooperative – has established to support their food production and selling operations. Barangays and cities in the region and in Metro Manila commissioned the coops to prepare vegetable packs. The participating LGUs include Brgy. Doña Aurora, Quezon City; Brgy. San Antonio in Pasig City; and cities of Sta. Rosa and Parañaque. Multi-purpose cooperatives in San Jose, and cities of Sto. Tomas and Batangas have hosted KADIWA markets.

KADIWA ni Ani at Kita is part of the continuing efforts of the DA to provide the public with healthy and affordable food and at the same time giving our farmers and fisherfolk the opportunity to market their products at this challenging period.
