“We will help you promote the establishment of a regional food terminal all over the country.” Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar said during the launching activity for the “Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita” program, which is geared towards increasing the income of farmers and fisherfolks through effective direct market links, held at the Food Development Center (FDC) on September 13, 2019.

Sec. Dar informed the participants that he is mobilizing and coordinating with the provincial governments to participate in the value chain of rice, fruits, vegetables, and value-added products and connect them to “Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita” all over Metro Manila for affordable food.

Sec. Dar designated Mr. Ernesto Gonzalez as Undersecretary for Consumer Affairs, a new unit of the Department for maintaining the affordable, safe, and nutritious food. He also acknowledged those who worked hard in the DA.

After the launch, he led the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the DA, Food Terminal Inc. (FTI), and Department Interior of Local Government (DILG) for the operation of KADIWA Center at the FTI Compound.
The Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) of the DA Region IV-CALABARZON, led by Mrs. Editha M. Salvosa and her staff assisted the three participants “Cacao Growers Association of San Antonio Quezon, Kusina Batanguena Home Cannery, and Soro Soro Ibaba Development Coop” in the Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita sa FTI.

Also present during the “Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita sa FTI” are Honorable Mayor Lino Edgardo Cayetano of Taguig City; undersecretary Ernesto Gonzalez of the DA; assistant secretary Marjorie Jalosjos of the Department of Interior Local Government (DILG); assistant secretary Kristine Evangelista of Agribusiness Marketing of DA; Chairman of FTI (Ret)LtGen Raymundo Ferrer; and the representative of the other departments.
