On July 13, Kinatihan II Farmers Association of Candelaria, Quezon received their much-anticipated four-wheel drive tractor and walk-behind rice transplanter. These new farming machineries will give farmers a much easier time preparing their rice farm.

According to the farmer-recipients, with these interventions, they can greatly improve rice production in Candelaria.

The program also granted one rice transplanter and seedling trays to the San Jose Farmers’ Association of Brgy. San Jose, Tiaong, Quezon, headed by Mr. Marciano Barcelona, on July 14. The new farm equipment from the DA was wholeheartedly accepted by the enthusiastic members of the farmers’ group.

Meanwhile, Bulakin Farmers’ Association of Brgy. Bulakin, Tiaong, Quezon received a new brown rice mill with polisher. This was delightfully received by the farmers led by its president, Mr. Virgillo Paran.

The regional office also granted one rice transplanter to farmer-beneficiaries from the municipality of Buenavista, Quezon, which the farmers enthusiastically tried out. They said that with the help of this intervention, they will have a shorter time preparing their rice fields.

Afterwards, three more farming groups received farming equipment from the regional office on July 17. Masalukot II Farmers Association and Magsasaka ng Buenavista East received a floating tiller, while Magsasaka ng Masin Sur received a walk-behind rice transplanter.

The farmer-recipients expressed their gratitude to the regional office for this intervention, especially to Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa, Assistant Regional Director for Operations Dennis R. Arpia, and APCO-Quezon Chief Rolando P. Cuasay. They strongly believe that they can now achieve higher yields in their crop production with these new interventions. • (MAP, DA-RAFIS)
