IN PHOTOS: Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa convened the selected members of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Management Committee on February 6, 2020 to examine the recovery and rehabilitation plan of the DA which aims to mitigate and adapt the effects of Taal Volcano eruption among affected farmers and fisherfolk.
Another objective of the special meeting is to identify and commit additional interventions that can be included in the current plan.
According to Director de Mesa, the regional office will request a line item budget for 2021 to support the continued rehabilitation efforts of the Department for this year. He noted that several lawmakers already showed support to the endeavor.
The committee is composed of the DA attached agencies and bureaus in the CALABARZON region wherein Director de Mesa acts as the chairperson and Mr. Pedrito R. Kalaw, Chairman of the Regional Agricultural and Fishery Council, acts as the co-chairperson.
Among the agencies represented during the meeting were Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Bureau of Plant Industry, Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards, and Agricultural Credit Policy Council, to name a few. โ (RFL, DA-RAFIS)
