Under its Taal Recovery and Rehabilitation Program, Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV-CALABARZON distributed black nets and UV plastic to 401 members of the Federation of Silang Ornamental Growers in Silang, Cavite on July 14, 2020.

This intervention is part of the ongoing utilization of the DA Quick Response Fund to help revive the livelihoods of the farmer-beneficiaries. The distribution was led by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Silang headed by Ms. Adelia V. Poblete.

According to MAO Poblete, the intervention was received and collected by the presidents of each farming groups in the federation. They will then distribute these black nets and UV plastic to their members. “This is a great help for the booming ornamental industry in the municipality of Silang,” Ms. Poblete said.

The farmer-recipients expressed their gratitude for the continued support of the regional office, especially Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa, Assistant Regional Director (ARD) for Operations Dennis R. Arpia, Cavite Agricultural Research and Experiment Station (CARES) Superintendent Ms. Eda F. Dimapilis, and Operation Division Officer-In-Charge-Chief Engr. Redelliza A. Gruezo.
