In partnership with Batangas State University, Southern Tagalog Integrated Agricultural Research Center (STIARC) spearheaded a 3-day station development workshop for its Research Outreach Stations (ROSs) on April 18-20,2018 at STIARC, Lipa City, Batangas.

Assistant Regional Director for Research and Regulations Engr. Elmer T. Ferry said that the development workshop aims to update and modernize the research center services to better serve the stakeholders in improving their quality of life and cope up with the current trends in application of agricultural technologies.

According to ARD Ferry, “We should ensure that the updating of comprehesive station development plan is always in line to our goal in becoming a center for excellence in our priority commodities.

The plan includes infrastructure and human development.” he added.

Engr. Cristina Rosales, one of the speakers on the said workshop emphasized to different research stations that this development plan will have a big impact in accelerating its innovations in different researches.

The workshop was attended by around 50 participants including STIARC staff, laboratory stations and representatives from research stations namely Lipa Agricultural Research & Experiment Station (LARES), Quezon Agricultural Research & Experiment Station (QARES) , Rizal Agricultural Research & Experiment Station (RARES) and Cavite Agricultural Research and Experiment Station.

Output of the said workshop will serve as a reference for the master development plan of Department of Agriculture Region IV.
