The Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV-CALABARZON turned over 100 heads of cattle to the City Government of Lipa today, May 9, 2020.

This is part of the rehabilitation and recovery program of DA CALABARZON for farmers affected by the Taal Volcano eruption in January 2020.

The distribution was led by Mr. Dennis R. Arpia, Assistant Regional Director (ARD) for Operations and Regional Rice Program Coordinator; and Ms. Vilma M. Dimaculangan, ARD for Research and Regulations, and Regional Livestock Program Coordinator. Joining them were City Mayor Eric B. Africa and City Veterinarian Dr. Samuel P. Comia.

DA CALABARZON began the distribution of the intervention in Laurel on May 1, 2020.

The Department has allocated a total of 1,163 cattle, 482 carabao, and 850 goats for distribution in the province of Batangas.

About 15 other cities and municipalities namely Tanauan, Lemery, Taal, Agoncillo, Alitagtag, Balete, Cuenca, Malvar, Mataas na Kahoy, San Nicolas, Sta. Teresita, Talisay, San Jose, Bauan, and Mabini will receive the same intervention as planned. ● (ARC, DA-RAFIS)
