The Research and Development (R&D) Division conducted a five-day training-writeshop on research proposal preparation on March 11-15, 2019 at STIARC Training Hall in Lipa City. The activity aims to capacitate both contractual and permanent researchers from four research stations of the Department of Agriculture CALABARZON — Cavite, Lipa, Rizal, and Quezon Agricultural Research and Experiment Stations; and to package proposals for submission to funding agency. 30 participants actively contributed their skills and technical knowledge to meet the desired goal of the activity.
Assistant Regional Director (ARD) for Research and Regulations Elmer T. Ferry delivered his inspiring message to the participants. He pointed out the importance of the training, that there is a need to focus, learn, adopt, and to overcome situations on research’s innovations and development.
Moreover, the invited resource speaker of the training is the expert in the field of R&D, Aida P. Cariño, Ph.D., a former ARD for Research and Regulations of the Regional Office and now a consultant. She discussed the problem tree identification and the presentation on the rationale and defining the objectives of research proposal preparation. • DA-STIARC-R&D Division
