2018-2023 AFMP for CALABARZON, presented
The Department of Agriculture Region IV CALABARZON, through the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division (PMED), presented to some 200 participants the region’s Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Plan (AFMP) for 2018-2023, held at Tagaytay International Convention Center on December 4, 2018.
According to Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa who presented the plan to the attendees, “The modernization plan we made is our guide for the next six years to address concerns on food security, poverty alleviation, social equity, income enhancement and profitability particularly of farmers and fisherfolk, global competitiveness, and sustainability.”
The participants, composing of local government officials, municipal and city agriculturists, Agricultural and Fishery Council officers, farmer and fisherfolk leaders, and representatives from concerned government agencies who worked together to come up with a strategic development plan for CALABARZON Region from 2018 to 2023, actively participated in the discussion during the presentation.
Among the attached and concerned agencies present were National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), and University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB).
