The High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) of Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. IV-CALABARZON (DA CALABARZON) held its 1st semester assessment of accomplishment attended by the provincial agriculturists and municipal/city agriculturists of Region IV-CALABARZON.

The HVCDP, led by Redelliza A. Gruezo, reported to said agriculturists in the region the list of interventions given as well as the physical and financial accomplishments of the program. Interventions such as the establishment of production facilities, provision of farm inputs and processing equipment.

Some of the highlighted activities of the program in the 1st semester of the year were the participation of vegetable growers in TienDA with the assistance of the program thru Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), the establishment of rain shelter techno-demo, and the launching of learning site for coffee processing activities in Cabuyao, Laguna (Casile-Guinting).

Aside from the reporting of accomplishments, the attendees were also briefed on the updates on plant pests and diseases, the importance of monitoring and reporting the same, and updates on market events as reported by AMAD. There was also a discussion on the harmonization of HVCD data of HVCDP and Philippine Statistics Authority and Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Plan 2018-2023.

To accommodate all attendees in the region, the activity divided the attendees per province, to wit, Cavite on July 3-4; Laguna on July 5-6; Batangas on July 17-18; and Quezon on July 19-20, 2018.

For the Province of Rizal, the activity will be held on July 31-August 1, 2018 at El Cielito Hotel, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
