Mr. Crispin Salvador from Laguna emerged as the new vice-chairperson of Regional Agricultural & Fishery Council (RAFC)-CALABARZON besting other contenders in the persons of Ms. Flordeliza Maleon and Mr. Sonny Buncha, both from the province of Quezon during the Special Election for RAFC Vice-Chairperson on February 19, 2018 at the Villa Evenzuela Siesta de Arago, San Pablo City, Laguna.

The newly elected vice-chairperson was the out-going Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.) and Provincial Agricultural & Fishery Council (PAFC) of Laguna.

Before the voting starts, Dr. Gloria Serrano, Chairperson of Electoral Board, presented the election policies based in the Council’s Manual of Regulations. The total voting population was raised to 23 coming from 60% private sector and 40% government sector including executives and members of RAFC, DA & DA-attached agencies.

“Let us congratulate Mr. Salvador for being the new RAFC Vice-Chairperson, a very important position for RAFC”, said Regional Executive Director Arnel V. de Mesa. He applauded the essential role of RAFC in extending the services to the farmers and fishers. He also appealed to the council for sustainable projects and programs.

During the same occasion, Mr. Buncha was elected to take the former position of Mr. Salvador as PRO.

Regional Agricultural & Fishery Council is headed by Chairperson Pedrito R. Kalaw.
