Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV CALABARZON Regional Director (RD) Arnel V. de Mesa, together with Farmer-Director Pedrito R. Kalaw and Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) Chief Editha M. Salvosa, met exhibitors (farmers, fishers, and agricultural entrepreneurs) of “TienDA sa Ayala Malls” on May 5, 2018 at Solenad 3, Ayala Malls in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

RD de Mesa told them that TienDA will regularly run at Solenad every first weekend of the month, from July to December, wherein they can still directly sell their produce at its farm gate prices, without paying any amount for the market stall/space.

Meanwhile, Farmer-Director Kalaw expressed that he is happy for his fellow farmers and fishers because the department continuously prioritizes moving of agricultural products from farm to market, thus helping them keep income coming in.

The exhibitors agreed on and felt glad for what have been discussed during their talk with RD de Mesa and Farmer-Director Kalaw.

Efficient marketing of agricultural produce is one of Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol’s identified major components to achieve Philippine Agriculture’s commitment in making sure that there will be more food for the Filipinos and improve the lives of our farmers and fishers.
