Agricultural extension workers (AEWs) in Quezon province were convened by Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV-CALABARZON to distribute the FY 2020 1st Quarter incentive allowance and updated them on the regional office's ongoing programs, held at Quezon Agricultural Research and Experiment Station in Brgy. Lagalag, Tiaong on August 26, 2020. This incentive allowance is intended to provide credit to the services rendered by AEWs in the implementation of DA programs. It covers their accommodation and travel expenses, thus improving the delivery of extension services while retaining the standard of outputs they provide. "On behalf of Agriculture Secretary William D. Dar, thank you for your continued support for developing the agricultural sector, not just in Quezon, but also in CALABARZON," Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa said in his speech. Director de Mesa also encouraged every AEW to keep providing accurate data for better collection and dissemination of information. In addition to the incentives, Quezon AEWs have been updated by the regional office on the different programs, such as the Rice Resiliency Project, management of African swine fever, Organic Agriculture Program, and High Value Crop Development Program which DA is continuously implementing. Subsequently, this kind of activity will also take place at the office of the provincial agriculturist (OPA) in Batangas, OPA Cavite, OPA Rizal, and OPA Laguna on August 27, September 1, 2, and 3, respectively. • (MAP, DA-RAFIS)
