Isinagawa ng Department of Agriculture Region IV-CALABARZON (DA-4A) Cavite Agricultural Research and Experiment Station (CARES) ang Training on Basic Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices at Training on Basic Fruits and Vegetable Processing with Machine Overview, sa General Emilio Cavite, noong ika 8 hanggang ika-10 ng Hunyo.

Ang aktibidad ay bahagi ng anim na buwang proyektong Strengthening Capacity of YAKAP at HALIK Multi-purpose Cooperative (MPC) in Support to Organic Product Certification and Commercialization of Processed Fruits and Vegetables in Cavite Province.

Layunin ng proyekto na maipakilala sa mga organikong magsasaka ang kaalaman sa pagpoproseso ng mga organikong produkto gamit ang makabagong teknolohiya at masiguro ang tuluy-tuloy na produksyon at suplay ng Philippine National Standard-compliant processed fruits and vegetables sa probinsya ng Cavite.

Ilan sa mga paksang tinatakay ay food safety introduction; awareness on good manufacturing practices; creation of standard operating procedures; importansya ng product packaging; at creation and designing of effective product labels.

Dumalo sa pagsasanay ang 50 miyembro ng YAKAP at HALIK MPC at local government unit representatives at entrepreneurs.

Inaasahang sa darating na ika-22 ng Hunyo, isasagawa naman ang Training on Entrepreneurship and Marketing kung saan ibabahagi ang importansya ng entrepreneurship; 5 pillars of marketing; at ang paggawa ng marketing plan and business structure.
