Banana farmers from 2nd district of Quezon received P1,200,834 worth of interventions from the Department of Agriculture Region IV-CALABARZON (DA-4A) during the ceremonial distribution of agricultural inputs happened at Agricultural Programs Coordinating Office in Quezon on April 16.

The ceremonial distribution was led by DA-4A OIC-Regional Executive Director Vilma M. Dimaculangan and Quezon Provincial Governor Danilo E. Suarez.

Interventions such as fungicide, herbicide, wheelbarrow, bolo, sprinkler, shovel, hoe, garden rake with handle, hand trowel, grasscutter, knapsack sprayer, and plastic crates were distributed to the banana farmers from Candelaria, Sariaya, Lucena, Dolores, Tiaong, and San Antonio.

“Kami pong mga magsasaka ng saging ay nagpapasalamat sa ahensya sa mga intervention na aming natanggap upang magamit sa aming mga tanim nang lalong dumami ang aming mga ani,” said Candelaria Banana Growers Association President Zarina Luneta.

The distribution of agricultural inputs was part of the High Value Crops Week that was celebrated last April 12-16.
