The Department of Agriculture Region IV CALABARZON’s Regional Animal Feed Laboratory (RAFL) in Maraouy, Lipa City finally got its accreditation as ISO-certified in a ceremony held on January 10, 2018.

Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa in his message, congratulated and thanked the RAFL staff specifically their manager, Eleanor G. de Jesus, and Integrated Laboratory Division (ILD) Chief Vilma M. Dimaculangan, for their good performance and hard work exerted on its accreditation as ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

He added that the RAFL is also one of the first laboratories in the country to have two approved additional Chemist II and Chemist I positions.

Dimaculangan, on the other hand, shared that the ILD has fund of its own to support the activities of the laboratories such as this one and that she is glad that she is part of this milestone.

“I’m proud to say that RAFL is number one in terms of highly technical and specialized equipment which are regularly calibrated every year,” she added.

Assistant Regional Director for Research, Regulation, and ILD Elmer T. Ferry said that the region is making history by conducting this important achievement.

de Jesus discussed the brief history of the laboratory and this was followed by a video presentation of its mission, vision, functions, and other activities.

Philippine Accreditation Bureau Laboratory Accreditation Division Chief Perla F. Baje also delivered her inspirational message.

A ceremonial ribbon cutting took place and all the guests had a tour to the facilities and equipment of the newly-accredited feed laboratory. • LCT
